A summary of Membership types

There are two levels of membership that you should consider when joining the Group or seeking a reply in the Questions section:

Mailing-List-Only Members may

  • Use their own email address to receive and reply to the Forum's emails.

  • Use their own facilities to archive any Forum emails they wish to keep.

  • Switch from being a Mailing-List-Only member to a Full member.

  • Choose the form of Forum email delivery - either as they arrive from each contributing member, or as one daily digest of consolidated email.

  • Stop email delivery while you are away, and re-start email delivery when you return.

  • Use the Group's own website (upperdalesfhg.org.uk) which includes Rennison's List, an index of websites of genealogical interest.

Full Members may in addition

  • Browse and search the members' emails archived since 2000.

  • Use internet access to dalesfhs from any location.

  • Use internet access to the dalesfhs Post facility which you can use to send emails to the Forum.

  • Browse Sheila's List - a dalesfhs index of members who are prepared to undertake lookups of their genealogical sources.

  • Inspect useful data lists donated by members - and to which members can contribute.

  • Use the archive of photographs on different topics to which members can contribute.
